The MP wants to arouse distrust of the climate minister

The Center Party, the Green Party and the Left Party want to depose Climate and Environment Minister Romina Pourmokhtari (L) through a vote of no confidence, something that Svenska Dagbladet was the first to report on.
Now the battle over the climate is intensifying after the government’s compromise with SD, says TV4 Nyheterna’s political commentator Ulf Kristofferson.

The reason is dissatisfaction with the climate action plan that was presented by the government and SD today.

– With great courage, you push the responsibility for climate change ahead of you. Those who have to bear the consequences are ordinary Swedes and our companies, says spokesperson Daniel Helldén, to Aftonbladet.

The other mouthpiece Märta Stenevi writes on X:

“In the end, the government’s climate delay plan came. The duty of politicians is to come up with solutions to the social problems we have now – not push the problems in front of them. Irresponsibility has a price. The Green Party therefore arouses distrust towards the climate minister.”

Kristofferson: Had his finger on the trigger

According to information to TV4 Nyheterna, the plans existed before the climate action plan came out.

– The parties had prepared this in advance. I’ve been hearing about it for days. Since the government made a compromise with SD, MP, V and C were convinced that a climate action plan would be too vague. They had their finger on the trigger, says Ulf Kristofferson.

The Social Democrats have not yet decided how they will stand for a vote of no confidence, report Swedish daily newspaper.

The Riksdag can raise a vote of no confidence on the proposal of at least 35 members – but 175 votes are required for it to pass.

The vote is scheduled to be held on January 17, according to Aftonbladet.

Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson reacts strongly to the opposition’s statement of no confidence.

“The opposition should be ashamed of arousing distrust because a minister is doing his job. Romina is the best climate minister Sweden has had. And she has my full trust,” he states in a comment.
