In the Selembao market, agents from the Congolese Institute for Research on Politics, Governance and Violence (Ebuteli), telephone in hand, explain how their Keba app. In total, 26 questions on health, education, security, the army, institutions: depending on the answers, the application indicates which candidates one is the closest.

The application interests a group of young people who admit to being lost in the face of the number of candidates for this election: “ It’s a bit difficult because there are 26 of themsums up one. It’s very hard to choose because we don’t know what the candidates’ projects are. »

There are those who vote because they are given polo shirts or bags of rice, follows another. But this application can help us. »

The goal is not to influence, but to make people think about the choice of this or that candidate, explains Crédo Katonga, one of the facilitators: “ A candidate comes, he gives t-shirts, he gives 2,000 francs… And there are often people who are influenced by friends, who vote directly without knowing the action plan of this candidate. We must choose the person who meets our expectations. »

In any case on the market the exercise gives rise to debates and some are sometimes surprised by the candidate proposed.
