The entire livestream lasted approximately 97 minutes and offers even more insight than the pure gameplay video. You can watch the live stream on the official website (via ashesofcreation.com).

As an element magician you have all kinds of skills at your disposal

What is behind the magician archetype? In Ashes of Creation, as in some other role-playing games, magicians master various elements and can therefore hold their own in battle. In the video you can see, for example, how the magician shoots powerful lightning bolts at his opponents or how an electrically charged ball makes its way to the next opponent.

At one point you can even see how the magician charges his fists with electricity and hits the opponents. In addition to the impressive lightning attacks, some fire attacks, such as classic fireballs, can also be seen in the video.

Do the skills require resources? To use powerful spells, the magician needs magic charges. You build this up when you cast simple spells. Up to ten magic charges should then be possible in the game.

You also basically have the choice whether you want to concentrate on one element in order to use it as effectively as possible, or whether you want to combine several elements and thus rely on synergy effects.

What’s also interesting about the magic system in Ashes of Creation is that virtually all offensive spells are not only intended to cause damage, but also cause debuffs. These are also stackable and can therefore become increasingly more effective.

These include, among other things, effects such as slowing down, freezing, sleep effects or even states of shock. The effect of electrification reduces protection from magical sources of damage.
