Nothing seems to be able to stop Javier Milei’s “chainsaw” plan… Determined to reduce the Argentinian state to its bare minimum and obsessed with the idea of bringing the public accounts into balance, the ultraliberal president repeatedly repeats that he has fired 50,000 civil servants since coming to power in December, and this is only the beginning!

Earlier this week, the presidential spokesperson announced that 15,000 public sector contracts would not be renewed after March 31, and that another 55,000 were currently under review.

Since the start of the week, thousands of employees of ministries, the national social security agency, the public scientific research organizationor even from the national meteorological service have been notified of their dismissal.

The general secretary of the ATE union Rodolfo Aguiar denounced the cruelty of Javier Milei and announced that the public service union would mobilize next week. In addition to a national strike on April 5, he calls on all dismissed civil servants to go to their workplace on April 3, reserving the right to peacefully occupy public buildings.
