The LG C3 4K TV is more beautiful, smarter, more efficient and already on sale

LG has been one of the market leaders in 4K TVs for several years and regularly gets top marks with its OLED TVs. With its individually controllable, self-illuminating pixels, OLED technology allows incredibly lifelike colours, rich contrasts and a deep black to be displayed. If you want to get into the OLED world cheaply, we recommend a cheap entry-level model from LG, which is very cheap, especially in the 65-inch version.

LG OLED C3: That’s how good the 2023 models are

First and foremost, the C3 series convinces with a first-class picture with a high peak brightness. Here, the C3 can once again clearly improve on its predecessor. At the same time, thanks to a new generation of OLED pixels and a better processor, it consumes less power.

Furthermore, the C3 supports the HDR formats HDR10, HLG and Dolby Vision, which are dynamic, colorful image care for. But HDR10+ is still not there. The operation has also been revised and made clearer. The start screen is much tidier and can be easily personalised.

Connections and gaming features

120Hz display, HDMI 2.1, VRR and ALLM, these are the important gaming features that the C3 has on board. These ensure smooth, responsive gameplay with a high frame rate and no lags.

Particularly practical: One of the four HDMI 2.1 inputs also supports it eARC. This allows the sound to be passed on to speakers or a soundbar. The important audio standards Dolby Atmos and DTS:X are also supported. Nothing stands in the way of realistic surround sound. However, you should get external boxes or a soundbar for the atmospheric home cinema sound. The TV’s sound is good, but the built-in speakers still reach their limits.

Samsung’s new QD OLED televisions are real high-end machines and offer top-level picture quality. The Samsung GQ55S90CAT is available from MediaMarkt for 2,489 euros, you get it too 200 euros cashback and a soundbar for free.

Compared to other OLED TVs, Samsung shines here with the constant brightness, which the 90C can maintain even in long dark scenes. So you can see much more details in dark film scenes. The anti-reflective coating and the viewing angle of the display are also at the top level. The Samsung has to give up feathers when it comes to operation, which is not as well thought-out as with LG or Sony.
