– Yemen is the first Muslim country to ban the import of Swedish goods after the crime and desecration of the Muslims’ holiest, said the Huthi rebels’ trade minister in a televised statement.
The minister describes Swedish imports to the country as limited, but believes that the decision is of symbolic value and that the ban is the least that can be done.
The Huthi rebels, who control Yemen’s capital Sanaa, are now calling on other Muslim countries to follow suit.
