The Guldtachemann appeals the iptv sentence – wants to be acquitted

Two men from Gävle and Sandviken were sentenced to 2.5 years in prison each and a total of SEK 196 million in damages to three vulnerable TV companies. They were convicted of gross copyright infringement and breach of the Copyright Act.

The men engaged in broadcasting iptv between 2017 and 2021 and had around 13,000 customers, according to the preliminary investigation.

Now one of the men, a resident of Sandviken, is appealing the Patent and Market Court’s verdict. The man wants to be acquitted of the crimes and the damages. He also does not want to lose the iptv boxes that the police seized from him.

In the appeal, it is stated that he “did not infringe the plaintiff’s right to television broadcasts”.
