While its hype wanes with each new video, The Day Before regrets to announce bad news: the game will not be released on March 1 as planned, but on November 10, 2023. It’s through a message on Twitter from the development studio that the news broke, explaining that this postponement is related to a legal problem. According to the developers, the trademark “The Day Before” would have been filed by an individual named Sun Jae Lee in the United States. The man probably has no connection with the studio or the game, but the name belongs to him. Fntastic studio reportedly discovered this issue on January 19, 2023 when Sun Jae Lee contacted the studio to complain about the use of its trademark. As a result, the game’s Steam page has been removed, the studio must find a new name for its game, which explains the postponement of the gameplay video which was to arrive very soon. For many Internet users, the excuse does not hold water, and some already see it as a set-up on the part of the developers to postpone the project for several months.
