Utrecht’s power grid is so full that natural gas remains necessary for new construction

Utrechts power grid is so full that natural gas remains

Despite all efforts to wean the Netherlands off gas, natural gas will still be desperately needed in the province of Utrecht in the coming years to continue building homes. In Utrecht the power grid is so full that without ‘fossil’ measures, gas-free new construction is no longer possible in large parts of the province. There may even be interruptions in the power supply. That is why the plan to switch off gas is being postponed.
