The expert in shock after Armand Duplanti’s new world record – now points out the sickest detail: “It’s completely unimaginable!”

Armand Duplantis has done it again.
After a fantastic new world record, expert Alhaji Jeng points out the sickest detail.
– It is completely unimaginable, he says.

Armand Duplantis broke his first world record in 2020. A lot has happened since then. He has won Olympic gold, several World Cup golds, Diamond League galas, and above all, he has broken his own world record seven times.

The expert on the incomparable detail

However, no one expected him to do so in the very first outdoor competition of the season. But Armand Duplantis had already won the Diamond League gala in Xiamen, China, without tearing, and then chose to set the bar at the world record height of 6.24. And of course Mondo passed on the very first attempt.

Armand Duplantis was the only one to jump over six meters. The runner-up in the event, Sam Kendricks, only jumped 5.82. And the very fact that Duplantis won so incredibly superiorly in the season opener is a detail that Alhaji Jeng likes to highlight.

– It is completely unimaginable! He thus wins by 42 centimeters. These are world jumpers that he meets, but it is outclassing style, says Jeng in SVT and laughs.

“It won’t work”

Jeng believes it should be impossible to present as well as Mondo does, this early in the season.

– It should not work in the first competition, that you enter like this. There are so many variables that you can’t get in training, that come up when it’s a competition situation.

– That he then jumps as he jumps… Completely frictionless!

Armand Duplantis himself was surprised by the incredible quality he displayed.

– It doesn’t happen very often, but I always have confidence that it can happen at any time. It felt good today, I can’t complain, he says according to Aftonbladet.

According to the organizer’s own measurement tool, Duplantis had managed an incomparable 6.29 on the jump.
