This week, both radio reporter Gustav Persson and the listeners got a shock when something unexpected happened in P4 Kristianstad’s live broadcast.
When the reporter asks people in town about the ongoing Christmas tree drama in Österlen, he gets kicked in the wallet by a dog.
– It was a mistake, says Gustav Persson in Nyhetsmorgon.
During a completely normal morning broadcast, P4 Kristianstad’s reporter Gustav Persson was out to talk to people in town about Österlen’s Christmas tree drama.
A woman arrives with a puppy and Gustav Persson asks what she thinks about the fact that a Christmas tree has arrived in the village. Then the dog hits him in the groin – live.
– It hurts quite a bit, you know when you interview someone you look straight ahead at the person and you are not really aware of what is happening on the lower part of the body, says Gustav Persson in Nyhetsmorgon and continues:
– So there will also be some kind of shock when it hits.
“It was a mistake”
The little dog was five months old and wanted to climb on the reporter’s jacket, but couldn’t really get a grip as there had been a lot of snow in Österlen, he explains.
– It sputters too much to stay up and it was a miss.
In the live broadcast, you hear him say “ouch, ouch, ouch straight to the scrotum!” and then apologizes to the woman that he can’t really focus.
Today, Gustav Persson has recovered well after the unexpected event.
– I feel fine physically, but mentally I still have nightmares about poodles.
