Current Basic Requirements for Shelter Locations
– Vacant real estate from 3000 m2 for at least 300 reception places.
– Vacant real estate from 1500 to 4500 m2 for 100-250 places.
– The owner operates the location and makes it suitable. Or the location is near an asylum center from which control can take place.
– Sites larger than 3 hectares that can be connected to water, electricity and sewerage. Preferably on building-ready land.
– The COA prefers reception locations of at least 500 m2 gross floor area, suitable for at least 50 reception places, although smaller reception locations can also be used.
– A minimum term of six months applies to a location.

Specific requirements for small-scale residential facilities for young people
– Vacant buildings with 350 to 700 m2 for 30-100 reception places.
– Linking buildings is negotiable.
– Within cycling distance of the city center or the asylum center in the region.
– In or close to a residential area.
– Available at short notice.
– With a destination ‘residential’ or ‘social real estate’
