The Cypriot club announced that they hired Toni Koskela

Toni Koskela does not yet confirm to Urheilu that he has signed a contract with AEL Limassol.

Soccer coach Toni Koskela has been named the head coach of Cyprus’ premier league club AEL Limassol. Company announced the issue on Sunday.

AEL Limassol is a six-time champion of the Cyprus League, but the previous title is from the 2011-12 season. The team has also played in the group stage of the Europa League in the 2012–13 season. Currently, Limassol is in 10th place in the main league after seven rounds.

– We believe that we chose a coach who will develop the team competitively and achieve the goals we have set, the club’s press release describes.

Koskela still did not confirm to Urheilu at noon on Sunday that he had signed a contract with the club.

Koskela, 40, worked in the Veikkausliiga as the head coach of Helsinki Football Club for four years. He was fired in July and replaced by the current head coach Toni Korkeakunnas.

Koskela coached HJK to three Finnish championships and one Finnish Cup win. He also led the club three times to the group stage of European games, the Confessions League of the European Football Association.
