Quentin Tarantino has immortalized himself in the cinema with masterpieces such as Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill: Volume 1 and Inglourious Basterds. What is less known, however, is that the cult director also took a seat in the director’s chair for individual series formats. Tarantino also directed an episode of Emergency Room in 1995 two episodes of the crime series CSI: On the trail of the perpetrators.
The finale of season 5 was created in two episodes under the creative work of the filmmaker, who also co-wrote the script. The double episode with the title Grave silence flickered across television screens in this country in 2006 and not only thrilled fans of the crime series – because Tarantino introduced some scenic elements into the episodes that were strongly reminiscent of his earlier works.

CSI: On the Trail of the Perpetrators started in the early 2000s on the US broadcaster CBS and became one of the most successful series in its genre, was given a full 15 seasons and set the tone with CSI: Vegas, CSI: Miami and Co Basis for numerous, no less successful offshoots. As a guest director, Tarantino was finally able to direct the double episode Grave’s Silence and thus fulfill a great personal dream. The episode was celebrated by critics and fans at the same time, while the director repeatedly incorporated his unique style into it. This is what you find in the episodes Lines of dialogue about board games that are typical of Tarantino and appear random Cameo appearances from Hollywood greats like Tony Curtis (Some Like It Hot) or John Saxon (The Man with the Deathclaw).
Even in a dream sequence of the investigator Nick Stokes (George Eads), in which he imagines being dissected on a dissecting table or claustrophobic shots from the inside of a glass coffin flash Tarantino’s directorial signature. The plot, which revolves around a living burial, is something fans of the cult director can’t help but notice think of the story of the bride (Uma Thurman) in Kill Bill: Volume 2.

Speaking to the Los Angeles Times, the cult director revealed that he didn’t feel restricted in any way by the series’ rigid TV format:
It wasn’t a challenge in that regard because I like the series. I wanted to make my own episodes of it. So I opened up to the format. I just wanted to make it a little bigger so it would feel like that like a CSI movie.Where can I watch CSI: Silence of the Grave by Quentin Tarantino?
