THE March 28, 2023, the space telescope took us to a very distant galaxy. 6.3 billion light-years from our planet is a cluster of galaxies whose mass causes a magnifying effect on objects behind it. It is by taking advantage of this phenomenon of gravitational lensing that James Webb was able to produce this photo on which astronomers recognized a galaxy located 9.6 billion years old and nicknamed galaxy “cosmic seahorse” since its discovery in 2021.
