If there is to be any lighting in this year’s Christmas tree in front of the city hall in Rome, you have to step on it. The Christmas tree lighting is connected to six bicycles and a generator. The more Rome residents cycle, the more lighting in the Christmas tree.
– It is a symbol in this difficult time with the fight against climate change, the need to save energy and everything we are going through, says Svetlana Celli, president of the city council in Rome.
