Striking Distance Studios has decided to intensify its communication around The Callisto Protocol. Indeed, after having allowed a certain number of media to discover the game controller in hand (see our impressions), the structure directed by Glen Schofield (the creator of Dead Space) is now broadcasting a documentary series which deals with the brutality , one of the five precepts of the title. In addition to the developers, special guests pass in front of the camera such as the make-up artist Tom Savini whose special effects in Friday the 13th marked the history of cinema. “I do like the magicianshe explains. A magician tries to make you believe that what you see is real. That’s exactly what we do in the movies.

We also see Dr. Andrea ‘Drea’ Letamendi, a psychologist who has often been consulted by screenwriters to guide them in the field of mental health. “Brutality is a kind of trauma that has no rulesshe says. It’s something visceral that is often accompanied by excessive violence. She also claims that in order to survive, Jacob Lee has no choice but to be as brutal as the enemies around him. Another point made by Chris Stone (Creative Officer) and Allec Gillis (who has in particular worked on Alien 3), it is that the fact that the Biophages have a human appearance reinforces their terrifying character, since we say to ourselves that if we were affected by the pandemic, we could end up looking like them.

We let you watch all this quietly by specifying that this documentary series will be available in five episodes, the next ones likely to be devoted to the atmosphere, the tension, the helplessness and the humanity. The release of The Callisto Procotol – whose release in Japan has been canceled – is scheduled for December 2 on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5 and PC.
