Long before The Boys with brutality and humor that satirized superheroes, Kick-Ass offered an alternative to the comparatively family-friendly Marvel universe. The uncut version barely received the FSK 16 rating, while Kick-Ass 2 is only approved for ages 18 and up. Today you can watch the first part by director Matthew Vaughn on TV, the one after A reboot 11 years ago plans.

Average teenager Dave (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) lives an unremarkable life until he… decides to become a superhero. As a kick-ass, he faces his first fight even without super strength. He meets the self-proclaimed avengers Hit Girl (Chloë Grace Moretz) and her father Big Daddy (Nicolas Cage). Their little alliance quickly finds out powerful enemies to do, especially the crime boss Frank D’Amico (Mark Strong).

A highlight of Kick-Ass is the then only 13-year-old Chloë Grace Moretz, who unscrupulously turns her opponents into shish kebab, that the blood just sprays. We will probably have to do without Hit Girl and the other characters in the planned Kick-Ass reboot, as director Vaughn revealed. He wants to redefine the superhero genre again and for that he needs a breath of fresh air.
As Variety reported in February, Kick-Ass will be rebooted into a trilogy. The first film was School Fight already filmed in 2022 and is about a teenager who gets into a fight with a love rival at school. The second film The Stuntman was filmed in Hampshire in October 2023 and is about two brothers who both want to become stuntmen. Vaughn is currently sitting there Screenplay of the third filmwhich represents the reboot of Kick-Ass.
