Krista Pärmäkoski finished third in the Normal Travel Cup and Kerttu Niskanen won the World Cup points competition. Pärmäkoski was not at all annoyed by the fact that he finished fourth in the race of the day.

Krista Pärmäkoski in Falun was bitterly fourth in the last individual competition of the World Cup, but Pärmäkoski was anything but disappointed. The ranking was best for him in the 10km freestyle race this season.
– It was a good race. Infinitely good. Really good things to do for free skiing, Pärmäkoski nodded in an interview with Sport.
– I didn’t think about the feeling of warm-up that the race would be so good. I’m not disappointed. Good, good skiing!
Many skiers were very tired after the race, as the Olympic season had absorbed their juices. Instead, Pärmäkoski was full of energy and he admitted that he could have skied well even at the World Cup next weekend. The World Cup finals in Tyumen were canceled after Russia invaded Ukraine.
– It is a pity that the World Cup will end here when there is still a surprisingly good condition at the moment. But of course it’s nice to end the World Cup season with good skiing.
Pärmäkoski is waiting for a mixed message
In Pärmäkoski’s opinion, the past season has been steady and good, as he has won three World Cup prizes this winter and, in addition, ten bronze medals at the Beijing Olympics. He finished fourth in the overall cup, but third in the Normal Travel Cup.
– Ruka got off to a good start. After that, I got sick and had to rebuild my fitness. I was a bit unlucky on the tour in terms of starting points, but there were also good skiers there, Pärmäkoski thought.
– The season has been really smooth and I succeeded in the championships. Many times after the races, if it has been in good shape, then it will carry the end of the season, and now it has carried.
Pärmäkoski hopes that his good free performances will continue on Sunday, when mixed doubles and mixed messages will be skied in Falun. The track for the mixed-pair sprint race was shortened from 1.4 km to a kilometer on Saturday, according to the wishes of the teams. Pärmäkoski thinks that he will be announced in a mixed message and he is looking forward to this race, because there is something different about it than in a regular message.
– It either sends a man on a trip or a man sends on a trip, so the touch is at least different from what a woman would get, Pärmäkoski said and burst out laughing.
