In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, the e-sports season is currently in full swing. The best players meet there – and somehow almost all of them use a certain weapon.

Limited weapon selection leads to MCW
Why is that? The Call of Duty League is owned by Activision Blizzard and has certain rules that apply to the 12 teams. The rules of the competitive mode include that certain items and weapons are prohibited, including the Holger 556 assault rifle and the Bas-B and MTZ-762 battle rifles (source: callofdutyleague.com).
This could explain why many professional players switch to MCW. In December 2023, it was already one of the best assault rifles in CoD: MW3.
How did he come up with the number? According to X-Biography, “FaZeCoDMuse” is a joint account of two users who upload content from the e-sports team Atlanta FaZe. On January 6th they write on X that in CoD: MW3 “67.96% of ALL kills so far have been achieved with the MCW in hand.” In the comments they state that they collected this data themselves.
We took a look for ourselves and watched the last qualifiers of the Call of Duty League on the official CoD League YouTube channel. In the different matches, on different maps and on different days, one weapon in particular dominated – the MCW. However, we were unable to understand whether FaZeCoDMuse’s kill rate was correct.
Several players from different teams chose the MCW as their primary weapon, usually in combination with the Rival-9 submachine gun or the Renetti pistol. One of them is Atlanta FaZe’s Chris “Simp” Lehr.

I also tested the MCW with the attachments and can say that the recoil is hardly noticeable and the rifle can be handled well even at longer distances.
