The anniversary of the accession of King Charles was celebrated

96-year-old Queen Elizabeth died a year ago at Balmoral Castle. He managed to rule for 70 years.

King Charles’s the anniversary of coming to power has been celebrated in Britain on Friday. Cannons were fired in London’s Hyde Park and the Tower of London, as well as in front of Edinburgh Castle in honor of Charles.

Charles already thanked earlier on Friday for the support he has received in his first year as king.

“As we mark the first anniversary of her late majesty’s death and my accession to power, we remember with great affection her long life, dedicated service and all that she meant to so many of us,” Charles said in a statement.

Charles and his spouse Camilla are currently at the royal family’s summer residence at Balmoral Castle in Scotland. Right there queen Elizabeth died at the age of 96 a year ago.

Charles and Camilla attended a private moment of prayer at nearby Crathie Kirk, where Queen Elizabeth also used to visit. Charles’ eldest son and crown prince William’s and his wife Catherine’s number to attend a small joint commemoration in Wales.

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak commented on the anniversary, saying the nation’s thoughts are with Charles and the royal family on the festive anniversary.

– Now that a year has passed, the extent of his late majesty’s service only seems greater, Sunak said

– His dedication to the people of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth only seems to deepen.
