The all-new Deebot T9 AIVI from Ecovacs is not your average vacuum robot. Because if it is of course responsible for cleaning, it embeds an artificial intelligence associated with a camera which adds very appreciable functions to it.

In barely ten years, robot vacuum cleaners have made a name for themselves in our homes. Their functions? Clean the floors of your home for you, independently and regularly to save yourself this unpleasant household chore. And this, even in your absence, the concept pleases, as evidenced by the constantly rising sales. Especially since, under the impetus of ever more innovative specialized companies, these robots are constantly improving to become both more practical and more efficient. This is particularly the models of Ecovacs, a company specializing in robotics, which was created in 1998 and released its first cleaning robot in 2007. Since then, the company headquartered in China has had no ceases to offer robots to simplify daily life. The latest in the range, the DEEBOT T9 AIVI, a robot vacuum cleaner packed with technology that does more than just clean the house.

Artificial intelligence at contribution

Most robot vacuums know how to detect obstacles to get around them or avoid falls. The Ecovacs Deebot T9 AIVI pushes the envelope further. It has a camera which, together with the AIVI 2.0 artificial intelligence module (for artificial intelligence and visual interpretation), allows it to precisely map the entire house in three dimensions to locate and move around. The technology called TrueMapping 2.0, gives the robot full freedom to find its way without problems, even in winding rooms, invaded by furniture or with complex layouts. In addition, the Deebot T9 AIVI can immediately recognize fifteen different objects that it may come across, such as socks left on the ground, but also cables and chairs with U-shaped legs, which often represent a trap for the robot vacuum cleaners who then try to climb them, without success. The user therefore saves a little more time and saves himself the chore of tidying up to pick up all the elements that could hinder the robot on its journey or even damage it. As a small bonus, the Deebot T9 AIVI can also recognize human silhouettes. A function that has a double advantage: the robot thus avoids hitting people moving around the house but also, it favors the cleaning session in rooms that are not occupied in order to disturb as little as possible. Well seen !

For cleaning and monitoring

Since the robot is required to move throughout the house, why not entrust it with the delicate task of monitoring what is happening there? This is one of the other key functions of the Deebot T9 AIVI. It has an HD camera with 360° vision. It therefore becomes easy for its owner, equipped with the Ecovacs Home application on his smartphone, to have the robot roam throughout the house to check that everything is fine. It is even possible to interact with the people present in the house or, why not, the pets by communicating by voice thanks to the integrated microphone and loudspeakers. And, rest assured, the images captured by the robot are encrypted and only accessible after entering a password.

A real house fairy

The innovations made by Ecovacs to its robot vacuum cleaner do not overlook its main function either: cleaning. To make sure you don’t miss a thing, the machine features AeroForce® multi-surface rubber brushes. These are anti-tangle double-sided brushes that are suitable for any type of floor. They are extremely effective in cleaning carpets. Furthermore, the brushes rotate in opposite directions. A technology that prevents long hairs or hair from getting tangled. Combined with a maximum suction power of 3000 Pa (Pascal), twice that of the previous model, these brushes leave a spotless floor whatever the type of surface.

The Deebot T9 AIVI doesn’t just vacuum dust: it can also mop floors. Under its hood, it has a 180 ml water tank and a washable and reusable wipe. Equipped with OZMO Pro 2.0 washing technology, it applies 480 vibrations per minute to eliminate the most stubborn stains. Ideal for daily floor maintenance.

Finally, when its work is done, the Deebot T9 AIVI returns to its charging station to replenish its energy. For more autonomy, it is possible to add an automatic emptying station. Sold as an option (299 euros), it allows the robot to empty its dust container (with a capacity of 300 ml) into a container capable of accommodating up to 2.5 liters of compressed dust and debris. Depending on the size of the apartment, this can allow up to 30 days of use without needing to take care of anything.

The Deebot T9 AIVI is already available at a price of 799 euros.
