The highly anticipated new Star Wars series has just revealed an enigmatic trailer this Tuesday, March 19. We tell you more about The Acolyte.

Ready to delve into the darker side of the Star Wars saga? After Ahsokareleased in August 2023, Disney+ continues to explore different aspects of the universe created by Georges Lucas in the series The Acolyte. The first two episodes will be revealed on June 5, 2024, before a weekly broadcast.

A first enigmatic trailer was revealed on March 19, setting the stage for the series which will explore the dark side of the force while the Jedi Order is at its peak. Several crimes will occur, which a Jedi Master will investigate. He will then find a dangerous warrior from his past.

Scheduled for 2024 on Disney++, The Acolyte counts in its cast Lee Jung-jae, the star of Squid Gamewho plays a Jedi Master and will opposite Amandla Stenberg (The Hate U Give, Hunger Games). Carie-Anne Moss (Matrix), Jodie Turner-Smith (Anne Boleyn), Manny Jacinto (The Good Place), Charlie Barnett (Russian doll) or even Dafne Keen (His Dark Materials) are also there. For the record, Joonas Suotamo, who played Chewbacca in the third trilogy and in the spin-off Solo: A Star Wars Storydons the costume to play another Wookie.

Set in a time long before the Skywalker family, The Acolyte takes us a century before the events of Star Wars : Episode I, during the last days of the High Republic era. Billed as a mystery thriller, the series discusses emerging powers from the dark side. To investigate a series of crimes, a former Padawan reunites with her Jedi Master, but they must confront powers much more formidable than they thought.
