The International Criminal Court (ICC) warns of “individuals threatening to retaliate” against the tribunal or ICC staff. Such action may constitute “violations of its administration of justice”, according to the ICC.

The court does not address whether the warning is linked to the ICC’s investigation into possible war crimes that Israel or Palestinian groups may have committed in Gaza and the West Bank.

There have previously been media reports that the ICC could issue an arrest warrant against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other Israeli officials.

The International Criminal Court (ICC) has its seat in The Hague in the Netherlands. It judges in cases of war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide.

The ICC is a complement to the International Court of Justice in The Hague (ICJ). The ICJ judges in interstate disputes and the ICC judges individuals who have committed war crimes or crimes against humanity or been complicit in genocide.
