    To make the general public aware of the difficulties linked to this skin disease, the French Eczema Association is organizing its 8th National Eczema Day. The founder of the association, Stéphanie Merhand, recalls how important this meeting is for patients.

    More than two million French people affected

    A situation from which their loved ones also suffer. “This day is an opportunity for patients to share their tips, talk about the disease, feel better listened to and understood, because the daily impact of this disease is unsuspected.“, declares Stéphanie Merhand, the founder of the association.

    Seven cities participate in the event

    If this day of June 4 makes it possible to evoke the disease, it also gives rise to multiple activities, in particular in the 7 cities which are involved in the event: Paris, Bordeaux, Guérande, Lyon, Strasbourg, Nice and St Martin. of Uriage.

    On the bill, a joint virtual conference to better understand eczema, in the morning, and an afternoon offering a specific program for each city, with a major urban game, a unique escape game type, and conferences, workshops or events. varied.

    Many topics covered

    Many topics will be discussed: new treatments for children, eczema and sleep, the impact on couple life and sexuality, resilience to overcome the disease or even eczema “mirror of emotions”. All enriched with advice from doctors and testimonials from patients.

    The national day has three main objectives: to break the isolation of patients, to allow them to discuss with different health professionals and to raise public awareness of this pathology.“, explains Stephanie Merhand.

    A campaign over several months

    Finally, beyond the National Day, a communication and awareness campaign, consisting of three visuals and a video entitled “Stop scratching yourself”, will be deployed until the end of June, in digital format, print and video to warn about the ordeal of eczema and get patients out of the itching complex.
