Why is Nikki Haley dropping out?
It simply went too badly in the fight against former President Donald Trump. During Super Tuesday, she only managed to claim victory in the small state of Vermont in the northeastern United States. Before that, she had a victory in Washington DC in the bag. The power of Donald Trump’s MAGA movement proved too difficult to overcome.
What message did she have during her campaign?
The main message was to show that there was an alternative to former President Donald Trump. She stayed true to this narrative and emphasized the possibility of a generational shift throughout her campaign. At first she refrained from criticizing Trump, but over time the tone became much sharper and she turned into a harsh critic. She will go down in history as the first Republican woman to win a primary with the victory in Washington DC.
Will she give her support to Trump?
According to the preliminary information in the media, she will not do it now. The question is whether she will do it later. After a heated campaign and bitter attacks on Trump, it probably seems strange to give the former president his support even today. But that may come later. After all, surviving as a Republican politician without belonging to Trump’s Make America Great alliance is difficult. She was also the United States ambassador to the UN when Trump was president and in the end it cannot be ignored.
