Melinda Jacobs fell for Martin’s big heart.

– He is incredibly generous and empathetic. He has a huge heart. Then he is fun to be with. He’s fun. And I laugh with him, but also at him sometimes. He is unique. He is easy to love, says Melinda in the documentary.

That it would be Martin and Melinda was not obvious from the beginning. They come from very different worlds.

Martin has toured, partied and basically just had to think about himself. Melinda is his exact opposite. She became known to the Swedish people under very tragic circumstances. She was a foster mother Esmeraldaor “Little Heart” as she came to be known.

Melinda fought hard so that Esmeralda’s biological parents would not get custody of Esmeralda, as both parents were in active addiction. But Melinda was not listened to. The biological parents received custody of Esmeralda. On January 30, 2020, Esmeralda was found dead.

Her biological parents had killed her. Esmeralda was only three years old.

E-Type on Melinda Jacobs: “She’s the hardest person I’ve ever met”

Today, Melinda is a foster mother to several children, and she also has several children of her own from previous relationships. In SVT’s documentary, Martin talks about the couple’s differences.

– I am in love with this woman. She’s the toughest I’ve ever met. But she has a pack. It is partly that she never goes to the pub, or drinks alcohol, parties, parties or derails. It doesn’t exist. It is incredibly structured. And she also has this many children, says E-Type, holding up all the fingers of both hands.

– More than once I have sat on a stump in the forest and thought about “how do I solve this?”. Not just “do I want to? Shall I change my life so there is nothing left of my old life?”. And the second thing is: Do I fix this? I can still feel, ‘How do I solve this?'” says Martin, talking about everyday life as a parent and the challenges that can come in the form of crying children, poopy diapers and more.

Melinda Jacobs reveals why she split from ex-husband: “Pretty much…”

In the documentary, Martin tells more about his reasoning, and about how he has changed his life since he met Melinda Jacobs and became a father himself.

– At the same time, you mustn’t forget that the one she got to know and fell in love with… I remove that part and become square, buy a watch and get a haircut. Then it’s not me. I don’t know if she likes it. So it’s a matter of sharpening up, taking one step less and not derailing too much. But at the same time, I must not lose myself, says E-Type in the documentary.
