Tennis: Iga Swiatek skips another tournament: “Very sad”

Swiatek, who has not lost a match at Roland Garros since 2021, surprisingly returned home from the Paris Olympics with a bronze, then dropped out of the Canadian Open due to exhaustion.

The US Open was a disappointment where she, as the top seed, was knocked out in the quarterfinals by eventual finalist Jessica Pegula.

She was not recovered for the Korea Open being played in Seoul this week and dropped out. Now comes the next dropout, however, Swiatek does not refer to exhaustion this time without personal reasons.

“I’m very sad because I had a great time playing and winning this tournament last year and was really looking forward to being back there,” said Swiatek.
