Tavistock teen killed in single vehicle collision in Perth East police

A 16-year-old Tavistock resident has died in hospital following a single-vehicle collision in Perth East.

Perth County OPP officials said emergency crews responded to the crash east of Tavistock – near Perth Line 29 and Perth Road 107 – just before noon on Sunday.

The 16-year-old driver of the vehicle – the lone occupant – was rushed to hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

Perth County OPP officers are continuing to investigate with the help of the OPP West Region traffic incident management and enforcement team.

While police hadn’t yet released the identity of the teen who died as of Monday afternoon, online tributes and a fundraiser for the family identified the driver as 16-year-old Lillie Riehl of Tavistock.
