The accident occurred shortly after 1 pm on Wednesday afternoon on national highway 44 near Särestad. The tanker has overturned and is partially in the ditch blocking the road, in the direction of Grästorp.
According to the police, the tanker is leaking methane gas and therefore the road has been closed to all traffic. Two nearby farms are also evacuated for safety reasons.
Police, emergency services and an ambulance are at the scene. It is unknown if the accident involved any injuries. The road is provisionally closed until 8pm tonight.
“Unfortunately, this can take a long time to fix, if it doesn’t go well until tomorrow,” says Peter Adlersson.
