Syrian status holders in deprived neighborhoods most often in poverty

UTRECHT – Syrian status holders in deprived neighborhoods live in poverty more often than other communities, according to the neighborhood monitor of Kennisplatform Inclusive Samenleven (KIS). For the first time, income data at neighborhood level are linked to the origin of residents. There were also significant differences between the different groups per district. For example, 61 percent of Syrian status holders have a low income, while the average in the Netherlands is 7 percent.
