Swedish travel companies warn tourists about heat in text messages

Several Swedish travel companies are now urging travelers who are in extremely hot parts of Europe to be careful and have sent out text messages to their customers with advice to cope with the heat, reports The evening paper.

— We urge our guests to be careful in this heat. We have sent text messages with tips on drinking a lot of water, taking a siesta and not lying in the sun, says Claes Pellvik, communications manager at Ving, to the newspaper.

The travel company Tui has also sent out text messages to its travelers reminding, among other things, not to light fires and to think about where to put the cigarette in the dry climate. The travel companies’ text messages have, among other things, gone to travelers in Spain, Greece and Italy.

According to The Express neither Ving, Tui nor Apollo have noticed fewer bookings during the heat wave. The extreme heat is also not a valid reason for canceling or rebooking according to the travel companies, as there is no advice against travel.
