Swedish star Martin Ponsiluoma back again after the injury – in the blue and yellow premiere squad

Biathlon star Martin Ponsiluoma is selected for the World Cup premiere in Östersund this week after the hip injury that caused him to miss the Swedish premiere in Idre recently.

Also Lynn Perssonwho underwent surgery on both the shoulder and the groin, has been an uncertain ticket for the competition season – but was nevertheless able to participate in the premiere and is now selected for the World Cup premiere.
– I expect Linn and Martin to be able to drive. It is clear that they had special arrangements, and Martin has not competed so far. But I hope that both are ready to start the season, says the national team coach John Luke in a recorded troupe presentation.

Martin Ponsiluoma got an inflammation in his hip after the autumn high-altitude camp in France, which he got into trouble when walking on snow.
– I am not particularly worried. I am set on driving in Östersund, he told TT a few weeks ago.

For many years, the World Cup premiere in biathlon has taken place in Östersund, except last year when it was in Kontiolax in Finland. Instead, last season’s Swedish competitions took place in Östersund in the spring.

Now the Swedish stars are looking forward to starting the season at home.
– It’s something extra, it gives security, it’s only positive feelings to be able to start on home ground, says Elvira Öberg.

Anton Ivarsson roared in the Swedish premiere and won the short distance. Now he is rewarded with a place in the World Cup team.
– We have found a good mix of established and new young names that have shown good development. It will be exciting to see them in Östersund, says Lukas.
