Chief of Police of Sweden Anders Thornberg promises that the police will do their utmost to appease the Swedish riots.

Thornberg held a briefing on the riots that haunted Sweden today, Monday. Thornberg says violence is a serious crime against society.

According to him, the riots have been specifically aimed at damaging the police and police equipment. Violence has been directed at lives and property.

He says it is now something even worse than a violent riot.

– We suspect that the parties involved have links with criminal organizations.

He urges people to stay out of areas where there is unrest.

A briefing said a total of 26 police have been injured in the riots and 20 police cars have been destroyed. There are 14 other injured.

Thornberg says he did his best in the situation. He believes that there are too few police officers and that the number of police officers has not kept pace with the problems of society.

He says police have systematically informed the government and parliament that gang crime needs to be tackled.

Rebelled in Sweden for many days

There have been numerous violent riots across Sweden throughout Easter.

The riots originated in protests against a far-right Danish politician Rasmus Paludania. He has burned Qur’an in Muslim-favored areas during his events.

The unrest continued the night before Monday, at least in Malmö and Norrköping.

In the Rosengård district of Malmö, numerous cars were set on fire at night, he says SVT (switch to another service). Police were attacked with fuel bottles and rocks.

According to police, three people were shot in Norrköping. The background was apparently police warning shots that hit protesters.

SVT also said there was a fire at a local school in Malmö. The fire is being investigated as a severe arson.

There have been similar unrest in recent days in Örebro and Lanskorno, among others.

Twelve police officers were injured in Örebro on Friday.

The Swedish prime minister condemned the riots over the weekend

The Prime Minister of Sweden Magdalena Andersson condemned the events on Saturday.

He said several police officers have been injured while defending Democrat rights.
