Swedish Migration Agency on Russians seeking asylum in Sweden Assessed

Nearly 400 Russian citizens have applied for asylum in Sweden so far this year – a clear increase compared to previous years. But according to the Swedish Migration Agency, the current situation in Russia is not reason enough to be granted a residence permit in Sweden.

– Our assessment, however, is that the repressive features of the Russian regime are becoming increasingly apparent, says Pierre Karatzian at the authority’s press service.
