Magnusson’s disappointment after the World Cup premiere
Just a minute into the mixed relay Magnusson was involved in a really boring collision with French Julia Simon. They both fell to the ground and the Swedish ski was broken because of the incident. The reserve Anna Magnusson, who was allowed to jump into the team after Elvira Öberg Pet, it was difficult to recover after the crash.
– I think it feels pretty good the first lap. I even think it feels like I’m pulling a little to avoid unnecessary mess and then I think I have an absolutely perfect position behind the German. Then I feel that someone comes, looks a little like this and see that it is Simon, she says in SVT.

Anna Magnusson explains in more detail what happened during the crash with the French.
– I just have time to think that: “There is no place here. It’s unnecessary ”. Then I go on the slopes and I try not to stress for it, but it is still a bit difficult. Then I also see that the ski is broken, so the second lap I go around and wonder if it needs to be replaced. I change it for the last lap. Still, I think I hold it together as well as I can consider what happens. Of course, it is sickly sad that it will be like that and I also do not think it is my fault.
Julia Simon apologizes
– I think it’s completely unnecessary, says Anna Magnusson to SVT
– It wasn’t the way I had thought, but I did the best of it. It also won’t be that far distance and we have good riders at the end. But ah, new tag!
– I feel horrible and I’m really sorry for Anna. I thought it felt good at first, but I must see a video first. There was snow on my ski and it was pressed sideways so that I fell over Anna. I am very sad unfortunately. I hope we can continue to be friends after this. It was a tough start to this relay, Julia Simon tells SVT.
– I don’t think I was too close to Anna. I felt confident and I know she is good at skiing. It was most unlucky and I hope she feels the same way. But in a World Cup it is obviously very difficult and I am really sad.
