Cancer patient Sven-Göran Eriksson’s dream came true.

To the anthem “You Never Walk Alone”, it was with emotional eyes that Sven-Göran Eriksson took in the atmosphere at Anfield.

Shortly before that, he had received a standing ovation from the entire arena.

– This is goosebumps. It is very, very special to see this, says expert commentator Hasse Backe, who has long been a colleague of “Svennis”, in TV4 Play.

Sven-Göran Eriksson has suffered from incurable cancer, but he is fighting on.

– When I talk to him, he feels very energetic. He is always positive. And that’s just the way it is. That is the generous person that “Svennis” is, says Hasse Backe.

The match, which kicked off at 4 p.m., is packed with celebrities. Among other things, both Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres are found in the Liverpool team. On Liverpool’s coaching bench, Eriksson has former star strikers Ian Rush and John Barnes by his side.
