Suspected of murdering woman with walker: “Vicious sneer”

The younger woman was at the home of a male acquaintance in Uppsala on December 8 last year. The man was supposed to drive the woman, who has had a long history of mental illness and has also been cared for for several years, to hospital at around 1 p.m.

They left the apartment together and went towards the garage, which was right outside the house, to get the car.

For a brief moment, when the man entered the garage and was about to get into the car, the woman had disappeared from his field of vision. At the same time, a 78-year-old woman had just left her home with her walker to go to the store and buy coffee.

Walked slowly from the place

The man backed his car out and got out to lock the garage door. Then he discovered that an elderly woman was lying lifeless and bloody in the snow on the street. Next to the body was an overturned walker.

– I will go straight ahead. Then (the younger woman) is also there and I don’t know what to say, I continue being asked “what have you done, what the hell have you done, have you done this?”

The younger woman did not answer the questions, the man says in police interrogation.

– I remember she just had a wicked sneer. (She) doesn’t say anything back. It’s just that sneer, he says.

The man called 112 and passers-by also stopped and raised the alarm and tried to help. Together they began life-saving measures.

– There was so much blood and it was a little scary. I froze on the ground, I told the (operator) I was talking to, I can’t move there’s too much blood. The man next to me started CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation), says one of the people.

At the same time, according to witnesses, the younger woman managed to slowly walk away from the scene.

Murdered 50 meters from his home

Police, ambulance and emergency services rushed to the residential area.

The elderly woman, who turned out to be the 78-year-old who only managed to get 50 meters from her home, was rushed to hospital. There it was established that her injuries were so serious that her life could not be saved.

Before the police could arrive at the murder scene, two other women from a nearby address had called 112 and stated that they had been unprovoked assaulted by a woman unknown to them. Among other things, one of the victims had his hair torn off.

The description of the perpetrator was exactly the same as that of the woman who, according to the suspects, had just beaten an elderly woman to death.

At the same time, a civilian police car with investigators had heard the radio call with the suspect’s description, seen her and recognized her as a person they had previously “dealt with”.

Went back three times

The suspect was arrested, with blood on him, and taken to the police station but later had to be transported to a psychiatric clinic. Earlier this week, she was charged with murder.

According to the lawsuit, the victim was repeatedly subjected to severe violence, including a large number of kicks.

The entire act of insanity was captured by the police’s own surveillance cameras in the area. The footage shows the woman moving between the murder scene and the garage lane, returning to the prone 78-year-old victim three times to deliver new kicks.

In addition to murder, the suspect has also been charged with six other counts.

  • Two cases of assault against the two women who were attacked shortly after the 78-year-old was beaten to death.

  • Two more cases of assault that took place the day before, against two other women in Uppsala.

  • Serious violence against an official after scalding a woman from the staff in psychiatry in Uppsala. After pouring hot water on the woman, she also dealt blows.

  • Abused a woman at a subway station in Stockholm in January 2023 by kicking the victim.

  • Earlier this summer, she fired, according to the indictment, also a female ticket inspector outside Stockholm. The classification is violence against a civil servant.

  • Illegal threats against a woman and a man who work in healthcare in Uppsala. Told her to kill them.

  • Watched the murder movie: “Horrible”

The accused woman has neither been able to admit nor deny the crime in questioning.

    – No memory to be honest, only psychiatry remembers, she says in the investigation.

    – It was deleted when I received the injections. Sounds very sad, makes me sad. Never something I would want to do, take someone else’s life, that’s why I feel sad, not a role I want, not a person I would want to become or be, it’s just tragic.

The police have shown her the surveillance video.

    – It is terrible, it is great sadness. Terrible. Saw a person who is like me, probably me taking someone else’s life, almost by beating in a tragic way.

The trial begins in Uppsala District Court in February.
