Just before 13 a suspiciously dangerous object was discovered in a forest grove on Södra Gryta in Västerås. At 6:16 p.m., the police decided that the National Bomb Squad needs to go to the scene to check the object.
The area has been cordoned off and a nearby preschool was evacuated.
– It is so close to the object that it is judged that it needs to be evacuated in case something happens, says Magnus Jansson Klarin, press spokesperson at the police.
Otherwise, the police do not consider that there is any danger to the public, as long as you stay outside the cordons.
The incident is being investigated as public destruction and a gross violation of the Act on Flammable and Explosive Goods.
