We recently recommended the first part to you, now it’s time for the sequel: you can watch Blade II on TV today. If you have a heart for hard action, horror and crazy fantasy designs, then you’ve come to the right place. We have director Guillermo del Toro to thank for that.

The Daywalker is still a half-vampire who has no problem with sunlight. But with other thoroughbreds. He hunts them to his heart’s content and first he has to free his mentor and helper Whistler (Kris Kristofferson) from the clutches of the vampires. Blade II is just as squeamish as Part 1, but perhaps even better
Thanks to the success of Blade, the second part was soon shot and it even managed to significantly exceed the box office results of its predecessor (via: The Numbers). We don’t necessarily owe this to a particularly imaginative story or increased mass compatibility, Blade II is just as bloodthirsty as Blade. This would probably no longer be possible under the Disney flag:

But here’s what it takes Guillermo del Toro (Pacific Rim) in the director’s chair Space and this is also clearly noticeable in the style of the film. In addition to a larger martial arts focus, he also gives Blade II a lot of crazy fantasy elements and strange designs.
Or, to put it another way: If you liked the style of Hellboy II, you will probably also like Blade II. Donnie Yen, a young Norman Reedus (The Walking Dead) and Ron Perlman (Hellboy, Sons of Anarchy) are also there!
