Surprising words in Norway about Therese Johaug’s comeback – which is the biggest insult to all Swedish women: “To those who wonder…”

All of Norway is longing for the 2025 World Ski Championships in Trondheim.
And the big question is whether Therese Johaug is on the starting line.
Now the Norwegian ski expert Ernst A. Lersveen steps out with a real mockery of Sweden.

As early as this weekend, the Norwegian ski queen does Therese Johaug long-awaited comeback in the tracks. When she is going to cross-country ski a 17-kilometer race in Switzerland and it immediately raises the speculation that she has decided to return to the sport of skiing again.

Johaug’s return

She dominated cross-country skiing for many years, racking up gold medals in both the Olympics and World Championships. In most races, the competitors didn’t even have a chance to take her back, but in 2022 the Norwegian chose to end her career.

Since then, Johaug has become a mother for the first time in her life and in the skiing world has names like Ebba Andersson, Frida Karlsson and Jessie Diggins took over the gold medals. But recently, speculation has grown considerably that Johaug is thinking about a comeback and that the big goal is the skiing World Cup on home soil in Trondheim in 2025.

The mockery of Sweden

The Norwegian ski expert Ernst A. Lersveen is now completely convinced that Johaug is back on the ski tracks to make a real bet towards the WC.
“Now there is one year left until the World Ski Championships in Trondheim. And now I no longer doubt Johaug. Mamma Johaug no longer plays with the idea. Now it’s serious,” writes the Norwegian in a column for Nettavisen.
“The first ever women’s five-mile in a championship was too tempting. Therese Johaug, 35, has already won everything else: the WC and the Olympics, several times over. She has also become world champion at home, during the championship in Oslo 2011. So she knows what it is like to win during a public festival like the WC in Oslo was and as it will also be in Trondheim”.

Lersveen is also convinced that Johaug will do everything in her power to win WC gold in the very first WC women’s pentathlon.
“Johaug comes to Trondheim just to win. Everything else is like a wasted year. Because Therese Johaug is a winner. She has already indicated that she will compete in the 30 km during the NM at the end of March. And now there is nothing to wonder about anymore. The next stop is Trondheim!”, he writes in his column.
“For those of you who wonder if Johaug can be as good as she was at her best. The answer is yes. She knows what it takes to put Diggins, Karlsson and Andersson in place. And be sure that Johaug does the training job to the full.

The Norwegian skiing expert also sees how Therese Johaug can win the five-mile in Trondheim with ease. He also uses words that are really the biggest mockery of all Swedish competitors in the tracks.
“I think Johaug can win the five-mile with his daughter Kristin on his arm for the last kilometer and celebrate with her over the finish line. As history’s first female world champion (at that distance). The desire to write history has been decisive for Johaug,” he writes in the Norwegian newspaper.
