Support services Sunshine List decreases by one

The number of people employed by Hamilton Niagara Haldimand Brant Home and Community Support Services earning $100,000 a year or more decreased by one employee in 2023.

Figures released by the provincial government show there were 93 employees on the agency’s so-called Sunshine List last year, down from 94 in 2022.

Donna Cripps, the agency’s interim chief executive officer, was paid $302,061 in 2023 putting her at the top of the agency’s list. She was followed by four vice-presidents: Martina Rozsa, vice-president, home and community care, $236,214.37; Cynthia Mae Ward, vice-president, resource stewardship and chief executive officer; $223,256.09; Sarah Vertlieb, vice-president, people and talent management, $191,884.51 and Patricia Ann Nelson, vice-president communications and engagement, $181,794.73.

Following is a list of the remaining Top 10 wage earners at the agency for 2023: Katherine Brown, director, patient services, $164,736.19; Rayner Fernandes, director, finance, $164,441.66; Andrew Szasz, director information systems and technology, $161,806.62, Laura Wheatley, director, patient services, $158,810.63; Tricia Anne Mcgivern, director, operations and transformation, $158,730.63.

The Aboriginal Health Center had 11 employees including seven nurse practitioners who earned $100,000 or more in 2023.

Dr. Monica Borkar was paid $256,831.56 making her the center’s top wage earner last year. She was followed by Dr. Eric Fifield, who was paid $158,030.51 and Jo-Ann Mattina, acting chief executive officer at $144,315.07.

Following is a list of the other health center employees to earn $100,000 or more in 2023: Erika Flaherty, nurse practitioner, $129,154.93; Brittany Stukas-Gallan, nurse practitioner, $129,154.82; Aric Rankin, $129,124.72; Melissa Germann, nurse practitioner, $126,359.29; Erin Doran, nurse practitioner, $114,456.95; Bev Dyer, nurse practitioner, $104,016.35; Carleigh Carter-Edmonds, $102,581.71 and Constance Mcknight, chief executive officer, $102,184.07.
