A study published by the Economic Analysis Council on Tuesday confirms the beneficial effects of the health pass. The explanations of Miquel Oliu-Barton, mathematician and economist, lecturer at Paris-Dauphine University.

The study indicates that the health pass prevented 4,000 deaths and boosted national growth in the second half of 2021. According to this comparative work, the health passes with similar characteristics implemented in Germany and Italy respectively made it possible to avoid 1,100 and 1,300 deaths in these countries. Failure to use this tool would have caused France to lose 6 billion euros in the second half of 2021, 1.4 billion euros in Germany and 2.1 billion euros in Italy.
