Strange New Worlds Season 2 release date is set and

Star Trek fans are in for a paradise of serial entertainment, from the surprisingly good Season 3 of Star Trek: Picard to the acclaimed Lower Decks and Prodigy animated series. The qualitative warp core of the long-running sci-fi series is currently called Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, the first season of which was showered with praise. Season 2 has been in the works for months and now we know when we’ll see it. But that’s just part of a large batch of Star Trek news.

Updates on Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, Lower Decks and more

The following was announced on StarTrek.com:

  • Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is getting a 3rd season
  • Season 2 starts on June 15, 2023
  • The Lower Decks animated series has been renewed for a 5th season
  • Season 4 is coming in late summer 2023
  • The children’s series Prodigy returns in winter with Season 2
  • In addition, it has been confirmed that the fifth and final season of Star Trek: Discovery will be released early next year.

    Other series may be planned

    For the time being there is no reliable information about further spin-offs, but hints in the direction:

  • Section 31: Discovery’s offshoot, led by Michelle Yeoh, isn’t dead yet. As suggested by Alex Kurtzman, one of the minds of the sci-fi universe, in an interview: “We’re excited for Section 31. And that’s all I’ll say.” (via ComicBook)
  • Picard showrunner Terry Matales teased a miniseries of sorts titled Star Trek Legacywhich could continue the story after Season 3, as reported by TrekMovie.
  • We still have to wait for official announcements of the series, we may know after Star Trek Day on September 8, 2023 more.
