Despite very mixed reviews, this science fiction film is at the top of the current rankings on Netflix.
Not all films that are entitled to a sequel are necessarily great critical successes, far from it. The proof once again on Netflix, which released the sequel to one of its blockbusters which, although it had been viewed by many spectators at the time of its release, did not obtain good reviews from the press and the public. The same goes for the second opus, which has been at the top of the most viewed films of the moment since its release on the streaming platform.
Space opera directed by Zack Snyder, Rebel Moon Part 2: The Slasher is the sequel to the film of the same name released last December on Netflix. The plot picks up where we left off the characters: Kora and her warriors fight alongside the inhabitants of Veldt, who see their village threatened by the Mother World. Everyone must confront their past before the battle against the Kingdom’s forces.
Highly anticipated to the point of being entitled to a sequel, the first episode of Rebel Moon had not, however, obtained critical support, whether in France or throughout the world. Rebelotte for the second part therefore, which obtains only 14% positive opinions from the press, when Metacritic gives it a score of 36/100, barely better than the first film.
But despite these negative opinions for this sub-Star Wars with Zack Snyder sauce, Rebel Moon part 2 overviews the top films of the moment on the streaming platform, in France and around the world. The first episode is also in third place in the rankings in France.
Despite this ranking, public opinions are not more positive. Nearly 144 Metacritic users gave it a 5/10. In France, 575 have rated the film to date, with an average result of 2.4/5. So mixed reviews. We will now see if success allows us to forget these bad reviews, or if the film will ultimately fall into oblivion on the streaming platform.
