Stormwind will change in the next patch – because many residents are missing

Stormwind in World of Warcraft will soon be changing again. Because many guests leave the city – and then find a new home.

Anyone who spends a lot of time in the human city of Stormwind in the World of Warcraft will have noticed some changes there over the years. The most noticeable thing there are the numerous refugees who arrived with the start of the “Battle for Azeroth” expansion. After all, Teldrassil was burned at that time – all worgen and night elves then fled to Stormwind.

What changes? If you look at the PTR for Patch 10.2 Guardians of the Dream, Stormwind has changed significantly. All night elf and worgen refugees have disappeared from the streets. The small campfires on the canal and the associated sleeping quarters have been eliminated.

The night elves and worgen have also left the north of the city, near the fields. The Druids had previously helped with the pumpkin farm there.

The colleagues at wowhead took a small “before” and “after” picture:

Where are the refugees then? As of patch 10.2 Guardian of the Dream, the refugees will be near the Amirdrassil. This is the new world tree, whose seeds Tyrande received at the end of “Shadowlands” and which has been growing in the Emerald Dream ever since.

Although the tree is currently still in the Emerald Dream, the residents appear to be already moving. But that’s hardly surprising, after all the patch takes place in the Emerald Dream and everything revolves around protecting the new world tree from Fyrakk and the Druids of Flame.

It can be assumed that the Amirdrassil will then transition from the dream into the real dimension level at the end of Patch 10.2. The perfect place for this would be the large, circular recess in the southwestern sea of the Plains of Ohn’ahra.

When does this go live? There is no release date for Patch 10.2 Guardians of the Dream yet. However, the release probably won’t take place until after BlizzCon in November – because at BlizzCon you can try out “future playable content” and, according to the infographic, that means patch 10.2.

Are you looking forward to the new home of the night elves and worgen?
