The plans for a mine in Fäboliden in Lycksele municipality are now definitely stopped.
The Land and Environment Supreme Court announces that it does not grant permission to appeal, and thus the Land and Environment Court’s no to mining exploitation stands, reports Sameradion.
It is the company Dragon Mining that applied to mine gold in an open pit and then enrich the ore in Svartliden. However, the Land and Environmental Court considers that the transports, which would pass through a number of villages, would pose too great a safety risk for road users and also endanger reindeer husbandry in the area.
The court therefore said no to the plans this summer, a decision which Dragon Mining appealed to a higher instance. But now the Land and Environment Court announces that it will not take up the issue.
