St Antonius Hospital investigates the effect of peppermint in children

In the Netherlands, chronic abdominal pain occurs in one in ten children. Globally, this is somewhat higher: 13.5 percent of children. A total of 240 children will be tested. Research was recently conducted in Maastricht into the effect of peppermint in adults with irritable bowels, says the doctor-researcher. “It has been proven there that it has a relieving effect, but that is not yet clear in children.”
