The spotlight hour with Jurob is running in Pokémon GO today, December 12, 2023. We’ll show you everything about Shinys, the bonuses and the times of the event in an overview.
What kind of event is this? An event of this kind runs every Tuesday evening in Pokémon GO. For one hour, a selected Pokémon is the focus of the game and can often be found by you. There is also a bonus that gives you more stardust, candies or experience points. Niantic determines at the beginning of each month which combination of Pokémon and bonuses will appear in the events.
Today you will meet the Pokémon Jurob from the first generation of the game. It is of the Water type and can evolve into Jugong.
Limelight Hour on December 12th – Launch, Shiny and Bonuses
When does it start? As always, the spotlight hour starts at 6:00 p.m. After an hour, at 7:00 p.m., it’s over again and the event spawns from the new “Hard Times” event appear again.
Which bonuses are active? During the event you will encounter Jurob almost everywhere in the wilderness. If you want, you can activate a smoke and use it to attract even more Pokémon of this type.
You will also receive double the amount of candies for sending Pokémon.

Can you catch Shiny Jurob? Yes, the dazzling form of Jurob has been active in Pokémon GO for a long time and can be caught by you. You also have the chance at today’s event. However, keep in mind that Shiny chances are not increased during Spotlight Hours.
Is today’s spotlight hour worth it? Unfortunately, Jurob and Jugong are not strong attackers that would be suitable for raids. There is simply too much competition in their type areas. Nevertheless, Jugong has a very special purpose: the super league of trainer battles. There it belongs to the upper midfield of the best attackers.
However, you can use the time to clean up your collection and get lots of candies in return.
