South Sudan UN arms embargo extended for a year

The Security Council on Tuesday, May 30 extended the arms embargo on South Sudan, as well as individual sanctions, for one year. This is the 5th year in a row that the international community has sanctioned South Sudan – a measure that has been criticized by the country’s ambassador, but also by the three African representatives on the Council, and by China and Russia.
